A rifle marksmanship clinic will be held starting 8 a.m. on
March 29th, 2008 at River Bend Gun Club and include both classroom instruction
and live firing. This clinic is designed to teach beginner and intermediate
rifle marksmanship, knowledge and skills, as well as prepare you to participate
in a Garand, Springfield, Military Vintage Rifle, M1 Carbine Match, or any
other High Power Rifle competition. Lunch will be provided. This clinic
will meet the “proof of marksmanship participation” requirement
for purchasing a rifle from the CMP. Clinic is limited to 25 participants.

Rifles:
Only rifles allowed in the CMP Garand, Springfield, Military Vintage, or
M1 Carbine match programs will be allowed in this clinic. These rifles include
the following U.S. rifles: M1 Garand, 1903 Springfield (except low numbered),
M1917, M1941 Johnson, U. S. Krag Rifle, and M1 Carbine. Military Vintage
rifles include a rifle that was issued by the Armed Forces of a country
other than the U.S., in "as-issued" condition and function by a manually
operated bolt action or straight pull design. |

Ammunition:
Those shooting .30-06 ammunition may bring their own ammo or purchase CMP
.30-06 ammo at the clinic, but only for use in this clinic. All other calibers
must provide their own ammunition. You will need at least 70 rounds
of ammunition for the live fire stage.
